Who will be this year's Dustin Penner?
Time to look at who the top 10 free agent forwards are this offseason.:
1. Marian Hossa- The NHL’s new Stanley Cup jinx will be looking to ruin another team’s chances at a Cup. All jokes aside he is a great player who will get another big pay day.
2. Marian Gaborik- Unquestionably one of the most skilled and exciting players in the game, Gaborik will be coveted by many teams looking to solidify their offense with a big time gamebreaker.
3. Martin Havlat- Chicago will desperately want to re-sign their leading scorer but with so many young players contracts due next year it might not be easy.
4. Daniel and Henrik Sedin- The Twins take up one spot because well, they simply won’t go anywhere with out each other. They also mirrored each other in the point department last year with 82. Mike Gillis has some work to do if he wants to get these guys back.
5. Mike Cammallerri- You know the Flames would love to have this guy back, problem is they might not be able to afford him. A career high 39 goals last year and at 27 he is just entering the prime of his career.
6. Alex Kovalev- It has continuously been said that the Habs would drop Koivu, keep Kovalev and make him the new captain. Wasn’t this the same Kovalev that was sent home for a few games in the middle of the season? Strange days in Montreal.
7. Saku Koivu- The long time captain and heart soul of the club has never been treated the right way in Montreal. Remember when the fans chastised him for not being able to speak French? It is possible that he will be playing along side younger brother Mikko in Minnesota next season.
8. Joe Sakic- Will Burnaby Joe even play another season? Will it be in Colorado or somewhere else? A lot of questions that know one has any answers to besides Joe himself.
9. Brian Gionta- Gionta is a highly under-appreciated player. The way he plays is nothing like his stature, big. He will produce wherever he goes.
10. Nik Antropov- The big winger played well in a Rangers uniform and should be able to pump in another 30 goals next year. There aren’t many teams that wouldn’t want that kind of production.
