Pretty much every sportswriter in Canada did it so The Bench Boss figures he might as well get on board and do the same. With the summer orientation camp out of the way here is how the team would look if I were Steve Yzerman.

Line 4:

Brendan Morrow         Jonathan Toews           Shane Doan

Extra: Joe Thornton

Pair 1:

Chris Pronger               Dan Boyle

Pair 2:

Scott Niedermayer       Shea Weber

Pair 3:

solid until doan and st. louis

st. louis needs to be there. I had Doan there pretty much just because you know they love having idiots like him and Morrow on the 4th line.

3rd line wont work. St. little guy is the odd man out. Richards and Staal are both natural C men. So they are both looking for the puck out of the corners and are puck controlling. St Louis does have the size for the line.

if you think Doan should be on the team make a better fit on the 3rd line.

There are centers everywhere buddy, some guys are gonna have to play wing. They’ve already said that Staal is likely gonna play wing so he’ll have to figure out how to play with another center no matter what line he is on. Doan is clearly a 4th liner if he is on the team, and there would be nothing wrong with St. Louis on a third line, this is the Olympics not the NHL.

It doesnt matter what stage the game is played on and I never sayed Stall couldnt play wing. There are a lot of elite Wingers in the NHL that controle the puck. Alex Ovechkin is a great example. No matter the size of the ice on the forecheck Little Louis is still going to have to go into the corners. The days of inetrnational ice hockey with little to know contact are over. All of the top teams have a physical presence on their rosters. the reason why he doesn’t fit is b/c how is he going to go in the corners and come out with the puck. I just think the line would be more effective with a bigger wingman. (I only said Doan b/c i was working with your list)
