Public outrage over the fact that the entire Calgary Flames hockey team and their famillies received the H1N1 shot before anyone else has caused quite the controversy throughout Alberta, but it hasn’t stopped Flames defeceman Dion Phaneuf from speaking his mind on the situation. “What do these people expect? Of course we are going to get the vaccine first, duh we play in the NHL remember,” Phaneuf said. “Maybe if they would have worked a little harder to become high profile athletes/celebrities like us then they wouldn’t have to worry about this sort of thing. If you ask me normal people don’t even deserve the vaccine. Its not like anyone will care if they get the flu and die anyways, but what if I get it? We would have to call up some piece of shit from the AHL and then we’ll have an even bigger problem on our hands.”
Despite the terrible sounding nature of Phaneuf’s comments, the star defenceman did actually make a pretty good argument when he pointed out how he would like to see all the diehard fans reactions when there is no more Flames hockey for them to hang on to. “Let’s just see what Mr. Season Ticket Holder thinks when the whole team gets H1N1 and he is paying hundreds of dollars to see replacement players go out and lose every game. Then he’ll wish he wasn’t such a pussy when he complained about the boys getting their shots first.”
