Henrik Sedin: “I Won’t Win the Art Ross Trophy Without My Brother”

Henrik Sedin, who currently leads the NHL in scoring says he will refuse to win the Art Ross Trophy unless his brother Daniel can win it with him. The Vancouver Canucks centre leads the NHL with 65 points, one point ahead of the Sharks Joe Thornton and two ahead of Pittsburgh superstar Sidney Crosby. Sedin admits it would be nice if he could end up with the most points in the league, but says he will not accept the trophy unless his brother also is named as a winner. ”We have always done everything together. Same clothes, same shoes, same hairstyle, and the same facial hair,” said Sedin who’s Canucks will be in Edmonton tonight to take on the struggling Oilers. “We spend every single day together and I just wouldn’t feel right accepting that trophy with out my baby brother,” said Henrik who is the elderstatemen of the two brothers by a full six minutes. “Maybe they can just name us co-winners of it or something. I know Daniel is nowhere near the top of the scoring race but thats only because he was hurt for a little bit.”

Rugged defenceman Shane O’Brien who doesn’t have any siblings of his own still understands where his teammate is coming from. “Hank and Danny can’t do anything without each other. They get up at the same time, go to sleep at the time, bang chicks at the same time, hell I’m pretty sure they hold each others cocks when they piss,” said O’brien who often accompanies the twins to clubs after games. “I remember one time in practice I hammered Daniel along the boards and he went down and started crying. Then Henrik came over and starting having a crazy tantrum and was also crying and saying stuff like “don’t you dare touch my little brother again you got that?,” I was just like ok, fuck whatever, stop being a couple of pussy’s. “Haha yeah that was pretty funny,” said Daniel recalling the incident with O’Brien. “He got me good along the boards and I guess my brother took exception to it. He can be pretty crazy sometimes.”

When asked what he thought about the potential of his brother refusing the Art Ross trophy, Daniel seemed to be thinking the same way. “He better not accept that thing. After all these years of doing everything together and sharing  all of our accolades and what not, taking that trophy for himself would pretty much be saying that we aren’t twin brothers anymore. If he tries to hog the trophy to himself I’ll fucking kill him.”
